ICSSR North Eastern Regional Centre Celebrated the 77th Independence Day
The ICSSR-NERC Family celebrated and commemorated the 77th Independence Day with pomp and gaiety. The Honorary Director of the Centre, Professor Bhagirathi Panda hosted the National Flag with a sense of pride to belong to a free India, after which everyone present joined in singing the National Anthem. Professor Bhagirathi Panda then spoke on the importance of remembering and honouring the martyrs who fought for the Nation’s freedom, so that we can live now with our heads held high. He also stressed that even while we celebrate our Independence we must remember that the road ahead is still long and arduous and we must all work together to put an end to social inequities, poverty, and illiteracy and to put our Nation on the world map.
